Elegance Redefined: The Narrative of Our Condo-Des-Arts Venture

Located in the heart of Montreal, a stunning two-story apartment is showcased. Our clients have a clear vision for this space. They need a comfortable, cozy, and versatile apartment that can easily accommodate family and friends while enjoying the comforts of home in a bustling city. Although the beautiful top-floor apartment offers magnificent views, developer-grade apartments often lack character. The task is to inject warmth and style into this space, creating a luxurious oasis for our clients to cherish in the years to come.

Infusing character into a builder-grade condo unit

To enhance the overall aesthetic and ambiance of the apartment, fixed finishes were first utilized to set the tone for the entire space. Upgrades such as cabinet feature walls, built-in bar counters, and fireplace enhancements (surrounded by stunning natural marble) were just the beginning. These elements added a touch of luxury and refinement to the space, transforming an ordinary area into a truly unique one.

We decided to elevate the condo’s walls by covering them in luscious natural wallpaper. The choice of wallpaper played a significant role in infusing character and personality into each room. It served as a backdrop for the carefully curated furnishings and created an inviting atmosphere that felt both warm and stylish.

The open-concept main living space presented a unique challenge – it was large enough to accommodate multiple living areas. To maximize functionality and comfort, we introduced a cozy corner featuring four armchairs. This space was perfect for intimate gatherings with friends or for those moments when you simply wanted to curl up and catch up on emails. It provided an alternative space for relaxation and socializing, adding versatility to the condo’s layout.

Principal Bedroom Transformation

The principal bedroom was grand but lacked character, with a long, uninspiring bare wall immediately visible upon entry. To address this issue, we came up with a creative solution. We concealed the plain closet door by building out the headboard wall with white oak wall paneling stained to match the floors. The result? A hidden door that seamlessly blended with the wall paneling, creating a focal point that exuded elegance and sophistication.

Collaboration and Success

The success of this project hinged on collaboration with skilled tradespeople who were instrumental in bringing our vision to life. Several challenging installations were seamlessly executed, exceeding our expectations. One noteworthy installation was the fluted marble tile used to surround a second fireplace in the den upstairs. The corners were flawlessly matched, and the joints were minimal, ensuring the tile’s beauty was showcased without distractions.
